Actress Nikki Samonas has posited that the Nigerian movie industry is doing well because they learnt from the once thriving movie industry in Ghana.
She made the statement in an interview with Abeiku Santana on his ‘Atuu’ programme.
According to the actress, the Nigerian movie industry copied the style of Ghana’s movie industry when Ghana began collaborating with them, and tailored it to suit their needs.
“When they saw how good we shot our movies, they stood on their feet, and decided to copy,” she said.
She however admitted that Nigeria financially invests a lot in their movies so they get higher returns, and it is something Ghana should emulate.
“The only thing they are better at is their investment level. They take their movies very serious and invest lots of money into it. They go to banks for support, and they have lots of investors who believe in the entertainment industry,” she added.
